We helped the The BlindStore sell custom-made blinds online, setting a new bar for the industry.

Having identified a gap in the market for high quality, well priced NZ made blinds available to order online, The BlindStore – a new business at the time – approached Scratch to help with a custom eCommerce website design.

Due to the nature of blinds being a very custom-made product, we built their new eCommerce website from the ground up, which included a bespoke price calculator to enable their tiered pricing structure, advanced product configuration and an intuitive samples request process.

The end result is a professional and user-friendly eCommerce website that allows The BlindStore to sell custom-made blinds online – all with little or no customer contact.

Visit The Blindstore website and the first thing that you’ll instinctively want to do is get an instant quote. This is no accident – our brief was very clear – get the user engaged with the product range and pricing as quickly as possible to ensure they realise that they can complete the purchase online, and that they understand how competitive our pricing is.

We carefully planned the user experience with this in mind, making sure that products were front and centre, but also that it was easy for the user to find their way to supporting information such as the measuring & installation guides, as well as clear signposting for the free samples request process.

This strategy was well-supported with high-quality images and information + custom eCommerce features to make specifying and ordering blinds online as quick and easy as possible.

Incentivising customers to refer their friends & family

To help drive referral business we built a simple email automation programme integrated with the eCommerce checkout process. This sends a followup note to customers after their order is delivered offering a $50 Prezzy card as an incentive to tell their friends, family & colleagues about The BlindStore.
